$15.00The Port City’s Oldest Graveyard
This tour tells the stories of our early American citizens, including native French, English, Spanish, and Native Americans who grew Mobile from a Colonial outpost to a thriving port city.
Our tour begins at the graveyard gates, and includes the unusual monuments, historic people, and unusual characters buried there. Our guide will share stories about the gold prospector whose body was sent home in a barrel of rum, Yellow Fever victims, a mass grave, and a haunted tree! We’ll also see the Mardi Gras section where Old Joe Cain, the patron saint of Mobile Mardi Gras is buried.
- The tour begins at Church Street Graveyard, 125 S Scott Street, Mobile, AL 36604
- Free on-street parking is available on Scott Street in front of the graveyard.
